This quote could easily apply to any one of the other three students pictured here with Catarina. For they all possess the same attributes— high scholastic standing and leadership ability combined with a willingness and drive to serve in the community. Catarina, as well, before graduating from Sutherland Secondary was a member of her student council, a peer counsellor, and responsible for a class of young children at St. Stephen’s Church. ; Ryan, a graduate of Argyle Secondary is an artist and was a member of the school rugby team. He is a founding member of the environmental group Earthwatch, and represented Argyle and North Vancouver in the Rotary Club Art Exchange project. Caroline is not only an accomplished cellist and a member of Earthwatch, she was a member of her Argyle Student Forum and tutors in physics and French. Caroline also finds time to volunteer at Lions Gate Hospital and Vancouver Children’s Festivals. And last but not least, Melody is a North Shore peer counsellor, was ‘chosen for the U-Trek International Exchange Program to Japan, and Grad Cotincil Vice-President at Sutherland Secondary. _ Incelebraiion of the accomplishments of these four young North Vancouver people, Lynn Valley Centre will make a financial. contribution to their future education and awards each one with the Lynn Valley Student Achievement Award.
