peteer Dirk Oecrtel, Dirk’s Mario-
nettes is the only theatre of its kind
within the Multicultural Theatre
Association of B.C.

Oertel, a former president and
artistic director for the Vancouver |
Guild of Puppetry, builds his own
stages, scenery and puppets and
during performances is assisted
with ‘costumes by his wife and
sister.

Admission to Rumpelstiltskin,
which gets under way at 1 and 3
p.m., is $4. Oertel promises spec-
tacular special effects.
