A 30-YEAR-OLD North Vancouver man was sentenced to four

months in jail Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to breaking into a
’ -Lynr Valley Road business.

Russell Nelles originally faced charges of break ‘and enter,
possession of stolen property and mischief in connection with a
March 29 incident in which a business was broken into and a col-
lection of coins was allegedly stolen. -

. After Nelles pleaded guilty to his break and enter charge, the
i entered a stay of proceedings in the other charges against

A 23-YEAR-OLD Vancouver man was sentenced to one month in
Jail Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to a-charge of assault caus-
ing bodily harm.

—§.B./Paradis, Kevin Joseph Beirne faced the charge in connection
with a Nov. 25 incident in which he assaulted a female.

A 51-YEAR-OLD North Vancouver - man received a 14-day jail

term Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to a charge of personation.

Francis Samuel Borden was orginally charged with personating a

- living person in connection with incidents that occurred from April
. §to 11 in which he represented himself as another male.

: EIGHT. CRIMINAL charges have been laid against a 24-year-old
“man.of no fixed address in connection with a November rash of
- burglaries at various Ambleside businesses.

Donald Ray Ruffin was charged Dec. 1 with five counts of break
and ‘enter with theft, one count of break and enter with intent to
:. commit an indictable offence, possession of stolen property and

possession of housebreaking tools.

Value of property sioien in the burglaries is estimated at $3,000.

will see a minor three per
cent increase, while the !
waste disposal fee will stay
the same.

recently took the necessary amen-
ding bylaw to third reading, with
final approval scheduled for the
first December meeting.

The eight per cent water rate in-
crease for apartment dwellers adds
up to a charge of $103, if paid be-
fore March 3, 1987, and $114.43
when paid afterwards. Strata
apartment dwellers will pay $104/
$115.54,

For homeowners, the increase
will mean $118/$131.10 for houses
less than 20,000 square feet and
$135/$149.99 for bigger houses.

Sewer utilities will cost apart-
ment dwellers $50/$55.56 and
homeowners $56/$62.22.

The waste disposal fee stays at
$87.78 for all customers ($79 if
paid by March 3, 1987.)

The water rates change is highest
because additiona! funding is re-
quired to pay for the upgrading of
the water utility system approved
four years ago. The upgrading is
due to be completed in two more
years.

Walker said that increases were
also lue to a four-fold rise in
municipal liability insurance.
