But after two weeks on the
job! 1 must apologize for last
Wednesday but I found out
the hard way that no parcel
carrier operates ona holiday.

Confusing? Briefly, these

over ten tons of salmon weigh-
ed in the three day event last
year. Tickets are available at
Island Tackle in Nanaimo and
charter boats can be arranged.
While in Port Alberni don’t
forget to visit the Robertson
-Creek Hatchery complex. It’s
mind boggling to see that
many Coho, Chinook,

Steelhead; and even Sockeye .

in the Stamp River heading to
that hatchery.

My old buddy, Bill Ottway,
of Federal Fisheries has just
informed me of some good
news for the river anglars who
wish to catch a few Chinook
or Coho in the Capilano
River.

As soon as water conditions
improve (rain) we may catch
Chinook in the non-tidal areas
of the river.

With a provincial fresh-

announced by a twenty-four
hour ‘public notice and the
closure at the end of the
season will be the same.

When the river opens the
tide-water adjacent to the Cap
will become catch and release
on all Chinook. This area will
be defined inside a line from
Point Atkinson to Point Grey
and the Lions Gate Bridge.
