West Vancouver Kiwani William B. Watts has been named governor-elect of the Pacific Northwest District of Kiwanis International at a recently held district con- vention in Richland, Washington. He takes office October 1 and will serve for one year. His jurisdiction is the Pacific Northwest District which includes’ Alaska, Yukon, Washington, Oregon, ‘the panhandle of Idaho and the top edge of California, with over’ 430 clubs and over 16,000 members. In B.C. alone Kiwanis owns and operates’ over $50,000,000 worth of senior citizens’ housing. Landscaping students get jobs Most women probably wouldn't think of a career in Landscaping, but according to instructor Brian White of Capilano College, the Applied Landscape Hor- tleulture is “ideal’’ for women, particularly single parents.
