Do you have a musical instrurnent
gathering dust in the attic, or getting
damp in the basement? Capilano’s Music
Therapy program is looking for donations
of musical instruments in any condition to
be used in their student practicums.
Music Therapy students learn to use
music to help people of all ages cope
with mental and physical problems, and
instruments which were donated last year
are now in use with many hospitalized
people. Indeed, tast year’s collection of
donations was quite something, ranging
from a drum set used by an all-woman
band during Worid War Ii, assorted
guitars, violins, recorders, mandolins,
accordians, organs, autoharps, and one-
of-a-kind instruments, to a Mexican hat. If
you can help out, call the Music
Department at 986-1911, local 454 to
make arrangements for pickup or
delivery. And while you're at it, you can
ask them what they did with the Mexican
hat.

It isn't too early to start thinking about
what you re going to do after graduation.
If you are considering going into a Career
program at the college, for instance,
application deadlines are as early as
March, and many departments start
holding orientation meetings for
prospective students in the new year. If
you're thinking about an Academic
program, the deadlines aren't as early,
but you are still advised to plan well in
advance of your high school graduation.
