THE NEWLY revitalized Ambleside Village — now sparkl- ing after months of work — will show itself off in a grand re-opening celebration Saturday, Oct. 1. Starting at 10 a.m., a pet and decorated bike parade will be led by a Dixieland band and band Freddy Fuddpucker and his Roll- ing Clones in a march down Marine Drive from the library to 13th Street and back to 14th Street. Ambleside has cause to celebrate — in a project with a cost to the merchants of $1 million, the benefits include new street lights, a newly paved main road, revamped sidewalks and trees at each of the street corners. When phase I] of revitalization is completed more amenities will be added. After the formalities are out of the way, the fun begins with a host of activities and special events hosted by the area’s many mer- chants.
