Vancouver Island students currently enrolled in the new Uni- versity of Northern British Col- umbia (UNBC)in Prince George. Renee Beaumont is taking courses in business administration, women’s studies and history. Mike Emri is taking outdoor, recreation and tourism, and international Studies. UNBC does not have a waiting list so far, said spokesman Rob van Adrichem. A full range of degree pro- grams is slated to be offered at the new university next September. Several hundred students from the Vancouver area are expected to register at the university, said van Adrichem. The university can accommo- date 1,500 students. Van Adrichem said the univer- sity is especially attractive to stu- dents who haven't been able to get into universicy in the Vancouver area.or have not gotten all the courses they wanted.
