West Vancouver became the provincial finalist in the 20,000 to 50,000 popula- tion category — following judging last Friday, bearing out the: communities of Campbell River and. Port Coquitlam. National winners will be announced at an wards ceremony Sept. 20 and 21 at the Museum of Canadian Civilization — in MUNICIPAL gardeners (left. to right) . West Vancouver’s parks superintendent Bill Reid said he felt his community had a good chance at the nationals. “I think they certainly - were impressed,” he said of. the judges, who included Michael Allen, a city forester. for Winnipeg’s Parks and Recreation Department, and’ Len Staniey a retired parks. superintendent for the City of Toronto.
