Though recommended for Italians only, the Trasteverini is designed for the southern Mediter- ranean spirit in every nationality. Already wes acquainted with Corsi Trattoria’s pasta ‘expertise, my wife and I tested its Antipasti and Pesce e Carne sections. We began with Spinaci e Funghi (spinach and mushroom salad) ($3.25) and Prosciutto e Melone ($5.75). Both were very good. The salad was filled with an abundance of fresh mushrooms and spinach and shredded cheese, while the prosciutto dish presented a colorful display of sweet green honeydew melon slices interspersed with sprigs of parsley and a dozen slices of first-rate prosciutto ham. Our entrees included Gamberi alla Corsi (prawns in garlic and vermouth, $14.95) and Scaloppine Melate (veal in apple and cream sauce, $14.25). The prawns, pan fried in butter and sprinkled with oregano and white vermouth, were succulent and excelient. Subtle prawn flavors enlivened with a subtle dash of Calvados complemented the veal nicely and made an_ interesting change of veal pace.
