Dear Editor:

Bravo for Rod Day. At last a
candidate tor alderman in’ West
Vancouver is sprakime up for the
neighbor hoods,

Surely Mayor Humphreys and
the current district council
(through the department of plann-
ing) act more as the council for
seal estate developers than for all
of us and our quality of life.

Meanwhile the developers are
eating up older properties and put-
ting the largest and most vulgar
houses they can on them.

\ live in Ambleside and our lat-
est abomination is at 13th and
Haywood. Three huge houses are
being built where one once stood.
Two for one went in at 12th and
Inglewood this summer.

And so it goes, here and there
along quiet streets. Were the
neighbors consulted? Not bloody
likely.

if the neighborhood has no in-
put into’such development and the
council has no standards, who will
speak for moderation, good taste,
and quality? Rod Day, a man with
standards and long experience in
municipal affairs, at least is trying
to make a beginning.
