The shutout was recorded by Perry Smith while goals were scored by Ken Mooney, Pat Rothenbush, Mitch Wescott and Tom Lee. The News was outshot badly but goalie Bob Sud- bury kept his team in the game until the late stages. In other games Cottrell defeated the Canadians 8-2 and Hollyburn Lumber stunned Metro 8-3. Meanwhile, in the senior league, the Drillers won their sixth straight game Sunday, with a 7-5 decision over the Black Hawks. Don Coates scored two goals for the Drillers, while Mike Cowan had two for the Black Hawks, who were down 7-2 at one point in the contest. In the other senior game, it was the Flames 9-4 over B.C. Tel. D. Treeland had a hat trick for the Flames, while Howie Carty and R. Miller had a pair each. Dave Jensen scored two for B.C. Tel. This weekend, in the intermediate league it will be Hollyburn against the News on Friday at 9 p.m., and Cottrell against Metro later that night at 10:30. On Saturday, Larry's faces off against the Canadians at 8:45 p-m. In the senior league, the Flames play Hollyburn at the Hollyburn Country Club on Lacrosse launched The B.C. Lacrosse Association (BCLA) will launch a field lacrosse pilot program in the spring of 1982 that the association hopes will start to cstablish field lacrosse in the curriculum of the secondary schools in the province. In the initial stage of the program the BCLA will supply a limited number of junior secondary = schools with scts of field lacrosse sticks, balls and goals. The equipment will be given “on loan” to the schools for the spring season for use in their physical education programs.
