but all those zeros in the date did make it seem like
this year might be the time to look inward, re-eva.uate
purpose and commit to some personal goals. But the
numbers below reflect pretty much the returns from
this time last year. In fact, slightly more of you have
opted out of the resolution game this year than last
which doesn’t exactly suggest any magical new age
dawning on the North Shore. Of course, most of you
non-resolving 80% majority could be living a life of daily affirmations that make
every day a january 1. But we suspect the truth has more to do with the fear of fail-
ure. In which case we can only suggest small steps, although vowing to investigate
beer labels more thoroughly is not exactly what we have in mind. Remember. if we
plan to change behaviour we must first go back in time and evaluate what prompt-
