Upper Lonsdale home
that burned Friday
morning expressed grat-
itude to neighbors for
their help.

since she lost her home in the
fire.

“These people really rallied

said the single mother of one
daughter. “Just awesome.”

Scott’ said she woke up
Friday morning and saw pco-

- ple outside. She didn’t smeli
smoke and didn’t know the fire
had started so she walked out-
side-to see what was happen-
ing.

“I was standing outside and
looked back at the house and
the windows just blew out, just
exploded,” said Scart. “It was
quite a shock.”

“They're my wheels,” she
said. Brouwer added she will
ask the government for anoth-
er scooter.

Brouwer said another occu-
pant in the home is a refugee
from Burundi. She was recent-
ly granted landed immigrant
status and was trying to bring
her two children to Canada
from Kenya. Brouwer said the
woman needs a stable home to
properly prepare for her chil-
dren’s arrival.
