Selections are made by the North Shore Secondary
Schools’ Athletic Association based on outstanding
performances in school competition.

Union Championships. The day-long event, hosted
by the North Shore Taekwondo Centre, takes place
Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Capilano Sportsplex. The

NORTH Shore Indians’ goalie Dwight Mactche was
named to the Western Lacrosse Association’s 1996 first
team all-star squad on Monday.

Indians’ forward Paul Gait earned second team honors,
while North Shore president Frank Kirby shared the
Executive of the Year award with Victoria’s Bob Burkholder.

Also on Monday, the Indians selected six players during
the WLA junior draft: Russell Brew (18th overall), Tyrone
Willushaw (24th), Jamie Kirby (30th), Justin Baker (36th)
Darrell Baker (42nd) and Kelly Scott (48th).
