raised primarily through the hospital gift shops and bazaars.

resort to costlier chemical
solvents.

Here are some typical cleanup
jobs’ and ways to tackle them: us-
ing these three ingredients:

Barbecue: To remove baked-on
grease. apply washing soda with a
moist,*, :tiff-bristled brush, then
rinse.

Garbage containers: Mix a quarter
cup of washing soda with a bucket
of hot water, then use this mixture

to clean and freshen the inside of "~

the garbage container.

Concrete floors, patios and
driveways: Scatter washing soda
generously over grease spots;
sprinkle with water until it forms
a paste and let it stand overnight.
Next day, scrub with a damp
brush and hose off.

Windows: Mix one part vinegar
with one part water; put in a
refillable spray bottle.
Refrigerator: Shake baking soda

onto a damp sponge to clean the
shelves and walls, then wipe clean
and rinse.

Microwave: The delicate interior
surface of a microwave oven is
easily scratched, but baking soda
on a damp sponge will do the
trick without harming the finish.
Drip coffee makers: To rid your
coffee maker. of mineral deposits,
half fill ic with water, then top it
up with vinegar. Turn the coffee
maker on and let.it run until all
the solution has dripped through
to the pot.

sower that you will likely have
hundreds of plants starting up
where the parent plant grew the
year before.
Some believe this aggressive
’. reproduction to be a negative
characteristic. | would rather view
it as an opportunity to share this
wonderful plant with friends and
other enthusiastic gardeners.
Simply dig them up in early
spring or late fall and pass them
around.
An interesting anecdote regard-
ing this plant concerns itself with
“its potential as a source of relief

for sufferers of migraine head-
aches.

In the late ’70s, a Mrs. Jenkins
achieved substantial notoriety over
her success using the leaves of
feverfew to reduce, if not elimi-
nate, the onset of migraines.

The most common dosage is
one to three leaves taken daily
while fresh plants are available.

in London, England. Dr. Stewart
determined that feverfew demon-
