The City of North Vancouver's first Official Community Plan was adopted in 1980. In 1987 Council directed City Staif to undertake the preparation of an update to the 1980 Official Community Plan (OCP). At present, the updated plan has been written and revised through a series of open houses, . questionaires and public mectings. The most recent OCP has been given First Reading by Council and is now being considered for formal adoption. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IF YOU ACT NOW! The next step in the process of degal adoption of the updated OCP isa Public Hearing at the ' City Hall. This Public Hearing is an opportunity for all people who are interested in the future developments of the City to come out and let your voice be heard..Now is ihe time io act. Before and during the Public Hearing you have a chance to ~ discuss with City officials, your ideas and viewpoints, but note, once the hearing is over, so is your opportunity to speak up. GO INFORMED At the upcoming Public Hearing yout can expect a summary presen- tation of the updated plan by City staff, but for all the details pick up a copy of the updated OCP irom the City Clerk's office at City Hall. You can then take time to study the document and come prepared to the Public Hearing. Also note, the amendments to the plan along side this column.
