Hollyburn Kiwi team A TOURING New Zealand bad- minton team was defeated by the Hollyburn Country Club team during its recent visit to the North Shore. The team from Hamilton Boys High School was the first overseas teur of Canada by a New Zealand secondary school badminton team. The team raised $26,000 for the 16-day tour by selling firewood, holding meat raffles, garage sales and 2 travel lottery. The Hollyburn Country Club badminton team played a series of singles and doubles matches against the nine players from New Zealand. After two days of com- petition, the local captured the overall victory, defeating the visitors with a score of 16 to §. Fraser Reid, captain of the Hollyburn team. accepted the win- ning plaque on behalf of the team.
