Hoskins) is a cop

aching to be pro-
moted, but it doesn’t look
good.

He's a racist with a diet based
on food groups that are 30 per
cent grease or 80 proof, He
harasses a black lawyer, Napoleon
Stone (Denzel Washington), for
“stealing” Crystal (Chloe Webb).

a hooker who was his girliriend for
four months. His apartment is ap-
propriately a pig sty.

Hf his personality didn’t keep him
from a shiny new gold badge, a
massive coronary certainly does
the trick. What Moony needs to
survive is a new heart, and that's
where his arch-nemesis steps in.

Stone has conveniently been
murdered and Moony wakes up
with a black man’s heart beating
in his chest. Worse, he’s got the
previous owner's ghost showing
up to offer health tips and to solve
the mystery of his death.

Of course, the ghost is only ap-
parent to Moony and for some
unknown reason can make physi-
cal contact with him. Perhaps he’s
a spectre with substance.

The cast is generally wasted,
especially Webb, but Denzel
Washington rises above the thin
material with an ingratiating per-
formance.

However, you can see him ina
much better film.
