Guide leader passes away MEMBERS OF the Girl Guides of Canada in North Vancouver lost a special friend with the recent death of Beatrice M. ‘‘Nanny’’ Pearce. Miss Pearce was born in England in 1890 and came to Canada in the 1920s as a Nanny to the Crowhurst family. She was an active member of Girl Guides in North Vancouver frora 1938 to 1972, and was a Brownie leader for over 30 years, during which time she left a posi- tive and lasting impression on the lives of approximately 300 girls who were members of her Brownie ~ Miss Pearce was a long-time res- ident of Evergreen House and, during those years, groups of Brownies, Guides and adults visited her and kept her in touch with Girl Guides.
