Racers — 25,000 plastic ducks — will be launched Feb. 14, 1988, and could win their sponsors prizes from a new car to $50C of grocer- ies and dinner for two. Participants pay $5 to sponsor a duck and take a stab at winning the race. The local hockey tournaments highlight a series of 30 such events that run until the end of the month in rinks sprinkled around the Lower Mainland.
