Dale Zieroth has written a new
book of poetry, entitled When the
Stones Fly Up. |: .

A large portion of his poems are
concerned with unearthing his past
~ his ancestors, his childhood, early
life on the prairies.- a shared past
for many Canadians, but one
which has been given little atten-
tion in history. ;

Zieroth says he learns from let-
ting others speak in his poetry. A
New perspective on people, par-
ticularly women, is established by
letting them have their own voice.

poet, Zieroth is also a creative
writing instructor at Douglas and
Kwantlen Colleges, a father of two
children and editor of Event mag-
azine, a literary journal published
by Douglas College. In the sum-
mers he also teaches at the Banff
School of Fine Arts.
