The speech listed such
highlights as the passing of
the district’s $50 million
budget ‘‘in a_ responsible
manner’’, involvement in the
ministry of education’s Let's
Talk About Schools survey,
and the passing of a resolu-
tion to provide students and
parents access to students’
school records.

Jessup’s summary also
highlighted District 44's
joining with other provincial
school boards in writing two
letters of concern to Educa-
tion Minister Jack Heinrich,
calling for the reinstatement
of school boards fired in the
Vancouver and Cowichan
schooi districts.

A school survey under-
taken in North Vancouver,
Jessup said, had revealed a
high degree of satisfaction
from parents and students
towards District 44 schools
and teachers.
