Choreographers compete for cash OUTSTANDING Canadian choreographers are now cligible to compete for the 13th annual Jean A. Chalmers Choreographic Award, Application deadline for the $8,000 prize, Canada's most prestigious award in choreography, is May 1. Applicants should be prepared to submit, in addition to a com- pleted application form, a 3/4-inch format video cassette illustrating their most recent work. The winner, selected by a na- tional jury chosen by the Dance in Canada Association, will be an- nounced at Dance in Canada’s 1986 annual conference to be held in Vancouver in August. Administered by the Ontario Arts Council in cooperation with Dance in Canada, the Jean A. Chalmers Choreographic Award was created to honor a Canadian choreographer of special ability or promise.
