Special Red Cross summer
blood donor clinic June 23

A special Red Cross
summer blood donor clinic
will be held at Lions Gate
Hospital on-Monday, June
23, from 2 to 8 "p.m. The
clinic is held in the Am-
bulatory Care Treatment
area with the entrance on
East 15th Street.

Attendance has been
holding up well but summer
months mean many donors
are away on holidays,

Volunteers

Volunteering can be fun
and interesting as well as
provide you with available
work experience for jobs in
the future.

Centre needs
help for our

summer programs which run
July through August. These

travelling is extensive and
accidents occur more
frequently — resulting in
much more blood being in
demand. -

The Red Cross is urging
new donors to attend and
help relieve the annual
shortage. The need is great.
Officials are asking donors
to “come and being a
friend”. _.

Dedicated donors who
-have recently been honored
by the Society and have
received certificates signed
by_the Governor General of
Canada are Mrs. D. Van
Gelder and Mr. C.R. Clarke.
Each has donated 50 pints of
blood that others may live.

Two other regular donors
who have given 35 pints each
are Mrs. H.J. Bliss and H.H.

Bragg.
Twenty-time donors are
Mrs. D.J. Zarrelli, C.W.

Harder, Mrs. M.A. Bostick,
Mrs. E.M. Ross, Mrs. S.E.
Gargett, Mrs. M. Kerr and
Mrs. E.C. Wympolsky.

The Red Cross loan
service is now in full
Operation again at 3030

Newmarket. Service opened
after the damage by vandals
was repaired. Phone 988-
