UVic chancellor Ian McTaggart-Cowan officiated at the Convocation, con- ferring bachelor’s, master’s and doctor’s degrees on 1,139 students. In addition, 124 students earned diplomas in = such areas as Education, Native Indian Languages, French Language, Child Care and Applied Linguistics during the 1979-80 academic year.
