A voluntary maximum of 10 cans per visit would be appreciated. At this time, PCA depots do not collect solvents, automotive and marine anti- fouling paint, or paint in unlabeled or glass containers. Persons abandoning waste materi- als not covered by the Paint Care pro- gram, or those abandoning paint out- side of normal depot operating hours, may be subject to fines or penalties under B.C. environmental laws. Representing B.C.’s paint industry, the B.C. Paint Care Association is committed to providing British Columbians with a safe, effective p collection and disposal program. Since commencing its govern- ment-approved paint stewardship pro- gram in September 1994, the PCA has collected more than + million equivalent litre containers of paint at over 100 depots and 200 collection events held throughout the province. Relieving that re-use, rather than disposal, is the best use for leftover paint, the PCA has established a paint exchange program, where suitable paint collected at PCA depots and events is offered free of charge to non- profit and community organizations. Interested groups should call the B.C. Recycling Hotline Materials . Exchange at 732-9253. For more information about the B.C. Paint Care Association, call 878- 8700.
