Vancouver businessman whose
Interactive Concepts is providing
interactive information systems to
businesses from banks and stock
exchanges to store owners and fit-
ness clubs — just about anvone who

wants to offer customers a wealth of

information right at their fingertips.
The system. Charbonneau said. is
“your Joyal soldier, open 24 hours a
day and packed with information.”
The information systems. which
are presented in a free-standing
kiosk or wall unit format. can con-
tain whatever information the busi-
ness wishes to include. Video ani-
mation, graphics, text, digital stereo

sound. human voices and a built-in
printer are ail employed to get ideas
across.

The bank with which
Charborneau’s company is currently
negotiating plans to offer a service
where customers can call the system
from home and access its wellspring
of information through their own
TVs.

If an interactive information sys-
tem were installed in a sporting
goods store, for example,
Charbonneau said it could help cus-
tomers sclect the best ski for their
needs.

A bonus for the owner of the sys-
ten is that the information can be
updated by telephone or satellite
from anywhere in the world,
