THE FOLLOWING is a selection
of volunteer opportunities avail-
able through North Shore Com-
munity Services (NSCS).

AN ENTHUSIASTIC volunteer
who enjoys exercise is needed to
work with a group of elderly
women as their fitness instructor.
The hours are from 10 to 1f a.m.
on Monday mornings for three
‘months in the fall and four
months in the spring.

A RELIABLE driver with a
reguiar driver's license is needed
to chauffeur a Pets & Friends

to fundraising fashion
events and fashion shows
taking place cn the North
Shore.

Sept. 1: Hatz Hair Design is
holding a ‘‘Hats off for
kids day’? at their 1219
Lonsdale location. All pro-

volunteer who visits a dog once a
week during the daytime. Orienta-
tion will be provided.

RETIRED or semi-retired vol-
unteers with excellent communica-
tion and interpersonal skills are
needed to work with vulnerable
and isolated adults. The hours are
flexible and training will be pro-
vided.

A LIBRARIAN is needed to do
cataloguing, shelving, processing
loans and returns. The hours are
flexible and orientation will be
provided.

ceeds from the ‘kid’s only’
event will go to The Ronald
McDonald Foundation. The
day will feature prizes from
local businesses, and stylists
dressed in all manner of
costumes. For more infor-

A BLIND author requires a
person to read, edit and then
discuss the novel. The volunteer
must be familiar with Word-
Perfect 5.1, and have good typing
and editing skills. The hours are
flexible.

A VOLUNTEER is needed once
per week to read to an elderly
lady with limited vision. The
hours are flexible.
