Conservationists oppose RV park A CONSERVATION group is once again opposing a pro- posed recreational vehicle (RV) park in the Maplewood area. Gerry McCann of the Natural History Society withdrew his sup- port for the proposed RV _ park during a public hearing on the issue at Monday's district council meeting. He said the park's developer failed to follow through on the society's environmental recom- mendations. The society was initially against the RV proposal, but later reversed its position after it was assured by park developer E. Epp and Associates that measures would be By 3 I Contnbuung taken to minimize environmental damage to the North Shore’s last natural salt marsh. “We asked that a chain link | fence in the area be repaired and extended,"* McCann told council. “There has been no consideration on that proposal.”" He also said that a buffer zone between the RV park and the salt marsh has not been extended.
