Centre summer progra The: West. Vancouver Recreation Centre is offering two. summer playground programs this year — one for children aged 3 to 5 and the other for 6 to 13 year olds. Registration for both programs will be held: Saturday, June 20 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. This registration will be for West Vancouver residents only. Non-residents can register June 27 between the same times. The program for 3 to 5 year olds is called the Pre- school Playground Program. It will be run in sessions of two week durations from July 6 to August 21. ° In the morning (9 to 12) the program will be for 3 and 4 year olds at Inglewood School and the West Vancouver Recreation NV seniors get grant A seniors’ group, The Sexy Sixties — All Seasons Golf Club, has been given a grant of $4,743 by the federal New Horizons program. The grant will be used to construct and outfit a games room for the members. The seniors mect at the Lions Golf Centre where snacks, cards and discussions take place between golf games. New Horizons is a program of the Department of National Health and Welfare which funds projects by groups of seniors enabling them to remain active and involved in their community. The program for 5 year olds runs from 1 to 4 p-m. every afternoon at the Rec Centre. The pre-school program offers an opportunity for children to socialize and participate in group = ac- tivities in a supervised at- mosphere. Activities include games, arts and crafts, songs, fitness, story telling, walks and community cx- cursions. FIFTH YEAR The Adventure Playground Program, now entering its fifth year, is organized in two sessions, both lasting a month. The adventure playground altows children between the ages of 6 and 13 to explore, create and build their own playspace under the en- couraging supervision of a resourceful staff.
