NEWS photo Cindy Goodman RETURNING FROM the U.S. Lawn Bowling Open with an overall third place in the champiconship flight are North Shore pair Mark Raymond and Peter Fish. Out of 108 entries, 48 teams qualified with Fish and Raymond finishing second in qualifying rounds. In the playoffs, Fish and Raymond’s only loss was to a Canadian-English pair after losing a tie-breaking end. The North Vancouver pair then rallied for a third place finish afier downing a U.S. pair 29-11. Also qualifying from the North Shore was Bob Lebron with partner Graham Drew and Henry In the singles, four North Shore players secured playoff spots. Qualifying 13th was Bob Scullion, 44th Henry Belhouse, 48 Peter Fish and 63rd Mark Raymond. In final round playoffs, Belhouse and Fish bowled in the same flight. Belhouse fost in the semi-final to Team Canada member Don Kuntz of Saskatchewen. But Kuntz then met Peter Fish in the final where Fish avenged his club mate’s loss with a 2i-11 win, putting Fish in first place of the seventh flight.
