A LYNN Valley gas station employee was the first
to notice the body; spotting it in a tributary of
Lynn Creek as the bus he was riding traversed the
creek on the Upper Levels.

It was February 18, 1981,
and within a few hours of
the grisly discovery of the
battered woman's body, 1n-
vestigators would have
almost everything they need-
ed to deal with the crime
everything, that 1s, cxcept
the woman's identity

Three years later, despite
close to 10,000 man-hours of
work on the case and tnicn
sive spurts of publicity, the
investigation ts stl blocked
by the fact that police do not
know who was murdered
