dience that the Greens had an
‘‘opportunity to offer hope’’
to those who were disillusion-
ed over the state of current
politics.

“We are offered a chance
to put forward a new idea,”’
said Nickerson. ‘‘The future
is ‘greén’' and we're the ones
who have to start it.’’

form the national Green Par-
ty in Ottawa last year.

about 30 people, Thomas
