IKANAGAN VISITORS always have a lot to occupy their time this time of year. But 1995 saw the Okanagan come alive with more than just blossoms and golf balls in spring. Last year the wine industry in this sunny area launched the Spring Wine Festival to complement the longtime fall event. This year, between May 2 and May 5, the second edition of the spring festival is back with a full slate of activities for grape and food con- noisseurs. Some of the events tourists ure invited to participate in include apple and wine cycling tours, guided winery tours, new release parties, vineyard picnics, dances, golf tournaments, and horse drawn orchard tours. Many of the wineries have special gourmet dinners or lunches. Wine tastings are sprinkled throughout the region. A major consumer tasting will occur May 3 in Kelowna and the sec- ond annual Bacchanalia celebration in Penticton goes May 4.
