Men’s festival features
work by NV playwright

THE SECOND Annual Men’s
Festival gets under way tonight,
with its gala opening 8 p.m. at
Station Street Arts Centre.

The festival features visual art,
theatrical and musical perfor-
mances, panel discussions and
workshops that deal with being
male in the 1990s.

Unlike the Women in View fes-
tival, submissions fram the other
gender were welcomed and
Carolanne Fenz of North
Vancouver took up the challenge
by preducing Women and
Wallace, a comedy that captures a
young man’s adolescent confusion

about the women in his life. Fenz.
said the main !esson of the pro-

duction is about taking personal
responsibility for one’s own life.

The discussions and workshops
wilt be geared toward open dis-

ussion on issues surrounding
men in the ‘90s. For information
