. Actually, this is exactly what
happened. Like the Dodge Viper,
the shape of the SVX ‘remained
basically the same as it progressed
from the concept stage to. the
production stage.

- The'most.controversial aspect
é the SVX is not its wildly *
futuristic-looking wedgy design
but its window-in-window design.
Sure, it does look strange, but
frankly I love the design of the
SVX and the funny window
design doesn’t bother me at ail
when I drive this smooth touring
coupe.

If you are still not convinced
that there are some really different
designs out there, then take a look
at the strange, swoopy shape of
the Buick Skylark; the extreme
cat’s-eye look of the Pontiac
Grand Am; the super aero-style
of the Chevrolet Lumina APV/
Pontiac Trans Sport minivans;
and the odd design of the Saab
900.

These not-your-normal designs
stir up love-or-hate reactions
from people.

Regardless of how you Feel
about these designs, I’m sure
you'll never say to someone again
that ‘‘all cars look'the same.’
