By ALISTAIR WAT. .’8 Contributing Writer Top honors went to West Van- couver’s Glenny Robertson, a 13- year-old Grade 7 student at Crof- ton House School in Vancouver. Robertson’s entry, titled Bub- bles, won one of six Best at the Fair awards and her prize is an all-expense trip to the Canada- Wide Science Fair in Mississauga, Ontario in May. The fair, held at David Thomp- son Secondary School in Van- couver and hosted by the Arts, Sciences and Technology Centre, was termed a ‘‘great success’’ by organizers. “It was very well attended and very successful,’ said Patti Leigh of the Arts, Sciences and Techno- logy Centre. She said the project level was a lot higher than in previous years and all the participants showed a fot of enthusiasm. The six top award winners will represent the Lower Mainland at the national fair. Other North Shore winners in- cluded: Angela Krewenchuk and Joanna Briggs, both aged 12, from Seymour Heights Elementary; Katherine Brunette, 14, of Coll- ingwood School; Stephanie Swann and. Tracy Brown, both 12, of Westview Elementary; Aiko Yamamoto, 12, and Jamie Good- brand, 13, of Sherwood Park Elementary; Lisa Davies and Ellen Forrest,’ both 10, of Westview Elemeniary; and David Lee, 15, of Handsworth Secondary. Archery classes hit . Van hail A SERIES of archery classes is be- ing taught Mondays until June 29 at Seylynn Hall in North Van- couver. ; The program is open to people nine years of age or older and runs for 10 weeks. Patti Crosbie is instructing the classes, Monday evenings from 6 to 7:15 p.m. , in 1977, Crosbie won first place at the B.C. Indoor Archery Championships and second place at the B.C. Outdoor Champion- ships. She captured first place in both the Canadian Indoor and Outdoor championships in the ladies’ un- limited division the following year. Participants in the recreation commission program receive indi- vidual instruction on the use of such basic archery equipment as bow, fingertab, armguard and ar- rows. Registration fee is $30 per per- son.
