A waterfront celebration

WATERFRONT Park will be the site of
Canada Day celebrations, both day and
night.

The park is located west of the Seabus ter-
minal in North Vancouver.

Two of the West Coast's finest remaining
steam machines will be available for touring
Monday, July 1. B.C. Rait’s Engine No. 3716
and the historic tugboat SS Master will be open
for inspection from noon to 4 p.m.

Other daytirxe activitics include children's
boatbuilding, kayaking demonstrations, a jungle
maze, craft fuir and vintage car show, ,

The North Vancouver Youth Bund will per-
form at 11:30 a.m,

Official ceremonies will begin at | pam. fol-
lowed by a giant birthday cake at 1:30 p.m,

High-school athletes will participate in the
Great Canadian Relay Race at 45 pan,

Live entertainment in the aftemoon will fea-
ture line dancing by Dance Expressions and
swing music by Tuxedo Junction. Evening
entertainment includes the concert “Claire Sur
La Mer and the Ali Canadians Eh!"

A bonfire, more birthday cake and prime
viewing of the fireworks at Canada Place at
10:15 p.m. cap off the event.
