been arrested in Chilliwack
and charged with robbing a

hitchhiker in North Van-
couver.

and was picked up by two
boys in a van, near Emerson.

The boys stopped the van
after a short distance, at the
Plymouth turnoff, robbing
the hitchhiker at knifepoint
and forcing him to hand over
his wallet.

They took $200 from the
wallet and drove off with
him, returning his wallet.
They kept two pieces of his
identificatbon, telling him
that if he went to the police

Hearing slated

A PUBLIC HEARING on
the Maplewood Community
Plan will be held at
Maplewood School, or some
other suitable location, on
March 24.

North Vancouver District
council voted recently to

hold the hearing to get input
from Maplewood _ residents
on the Distnct's proposed
plan for the area.

The meeting will be held
at 7:30 p.m.. probably in the
school, said Mayor Dona
Bell.
