MORE THAN 5,000 provincial said they would like to see more

park visitors who responded to a
BC Parks’ satisfaction survey, last
year indicated a high level of
satisfaction with the system,
former Parks Minister Jack Kempf
said recently.

Kempf said that features of the
parks receiving the highest ac-
colades were: beautiful natural set-
tings, accessibility, privacy,
cleanliness, and helpfulness of
parks staff.

campground fees and greater cam-
pground security.

“In response to those sugges-
tions, we have already added
showers to 1! campgrounds,”
Kempf said. ‘‘And campground
fees, with a few exceptions, have
remained at last year’s levels. For
those parks in which visitors had
safety or security concerns, ranger
patrols have been increased.”

The minister said that another

summer ‘‘to give park visitors an
opportunity to comment on the
quality of the provinciai park facil-
ities, services, programs — and to
provide parks employees with in-
formation that will permit them to
serve the public even better.’’

Kempf concluded: ‘‘We will act
as quickly as possible to implement
suggestions for improving our
provincial parks and the facilities
and services we provide.”’
