A COUPLE who awakened
to the sounds of fire
crackling in their North
Vancouver townhouse
Sunday morning reached
safety by crawling beneath
thick smoke which blocked
their way to the door.

David Green woke shortly

Anne crawled on their hands
and knees. beneath the
smoke in order to get out.

Green pulled a fire alarm
and arranged for a-neighbor
to call North Van District
Fire department.

A fire crew responded
quickly enough to prevent
