- Plans include a 300-square metre
pool with a ‘beach’, where one-
metre waves can roll when the
‘surf’s up’.

An aquasize pool and two
whirlpools are adjacent, as well as
a multi-purpose lounge and a teen
lounge, providing a variety of uses
to be enjoyed by all segments of
the community.

Outdoor amenities, including a
courtyard, expanded parking,
walkways, lighting and landscap-
ing, added no smail cost to the
project.

Your council has approved some
$3.4 million of capital funding
from land sales and have applied
for a provincial ‘‘GO B.C.” grant
of $1 million to make the project a

Some years ago the municipality
established a separate zone for
neighborhood pubs ... one which
requires a special municipally con-
ducted ; poll before council con-
siders a rezoning application.

This is in addition to the poll
required by the Proviscial Liquor
Licensing and Control Board.

In a recent report received by
council, our social planner com-
ments, “in light of social planning
concerns, and public reaction, it is
intended that no action be taken
on the normal process of moving
straightaway to a municipal poll.
staff will seek further
direction from council on the basis
of a fuller report that specifies the
compliance of the application with
municipal regulations, and a com-
plete analysis of social plenning
concerns."
