HOW TO Be A Restaurant Critic
for Fun and Profit is the topic of a
course being offered at Capilano
College.

Instructed by food personality
and author James Barber, the
four-session program runs Wed-
nesdays, starting Feb. 1, from 7 to
10 p.m.

Participants will study examples
of good critical writing and learn
how to develop specialist research
techniques in the area of food and
drink as well as methods for get-
ting their work published. One ses-
sion will involve a field trip to a
restaurant.

musculature, flexibility and general
back health at a education class
sponsored by the North Shore
YMCA.

A combination iecture, discus-
sion and simple exercise program,
the class will teach proper align-
ment, body mechanics, and exer-
cise techniques to deal with par-
ticipants’ present back problems.

Local physiotherapist Gunnel
Gavin will lead the four-week
evening program. The next session
runs Wednesday evenings, 7 to 9
