NORTH VANCOUVER Painter Drew Burnham's Dinner Time (above) is one of 10 pieces chosen to
represent the North Shore in this year's Images and Objects X in Yernon, 8.C., the visual com-
ponent of the B.C. Festival of the Arts. The winning artwork is on display at the Silk Purse art
centre unti] Friday. Chosen were Boomer Jerritt's pencil rendition of the Carmanah Valley, en-
titled Inspiration for Preservation, Donna Alexandria Fraser's Garry Brown and the Temple of
Poseidon, acrylic on canvas; Lyla Bessner’s Syncophancy, oil on canvas; Ken Nicholts’ untitled
mixed-media; Rita Rowbotham's porcelain Blue and White Vase; Lisa Klepak's Enter, acrylic on
canvas; Barbara Bartholomew’s Mousing Through History, photographic images on wood; I.A.
Mohr’s My sister and her Daughter, oil on canvas; Gordon Finlay’s Vulnerability Reciprocated, oil
on canvas; and Drew Burnham’s Dinner: Time, acrylic on canvas. Jurors Sandra Semchuk and
Martin Honisch aise selected 28 artists for honorable mention. Images and Objects X, a major
provincial art exhibition, will be held May 27-31.
