The North Shore Drive is under the directorship of Sally Smith, with West Vancouver campaign chairman Jean Reid and Anne Halistein as chairman of North Vancouver. Howard emphasizes that the Cancer Drive is to raise funds for the everyday operation of the B.C. Cancer Clinic, services to patients and public education, and should not be confused with the Terry Fox Funds that go directly to new and in- novative research projects only. ; April is Cancer month. Many North Shore com- panies, organizations and service clubs will be taking an active part to raise funds. Volunteers as workers, canvassers and delivery persons are still needed. The North Vancouver Royal Legion Branch 118 will be donating’ the proceeds of their Saturday April 17 Meat Draw to the North Shore Drive. Also, during the week of April 120 17, they have designated a “Double It For Cancer Week”. When a patron is ordering a drink, he can say “Double It For Cancer” and « the amount of money for the second drink will go into the pot for Cancer. There will be a blitz at the Lions Gate Hospital on Wednesday April 14 by the Auxiliary under the direction of Anne Wihor, followed by another blitz under the direction of Gerti Todd on Saturday and Sunday, April !7 and 18. Past contestants of the Miss North Shore Pageant, and also our Miss North Shore of 1981, will be involved. Members of the Beta Sigma Phi Soronty of the North Shore will be sefing daffodils in the Westlynn and Capilano Malls on Saturday, April 3, and Sally PARK ROYAL Carmichael of West Van- couver has organized 28 volunteers to sell daffodils in the North and South Malls of Park Royal.
