Cruisers, ringette tourney fi TWO TEAMS from the North West Vancouver Ringette Association were knocked out of the North Shore Winter Club’s Invitational ‘“A’’ Tournament held over the Feb. 7 weekend. The Beile “‘A’’ Cruisers and the Junier “A” Breakers both turned in solid efforts but missed the final rounds. The Belle ‘‘A’’ Cruisers’ best game was against visiting Bonivital when they staged a three-goal comeback only to fall short by a goal. The juniors had many fine games but lost a tough opening game to the eventual tournament winners Calgary Classics. Hat tricks by Debby Cook and Lisa Demeute and a two-goal effort from Christal Carleton led the way for the Lions. The Petite “B" ‘Yigers, meanwhile, defeated Langley on their home ice. Allison Boyd, a recent Tiger addition, played extremely well in goal. The Belle ‘*A’* Cruisers, though weary after the weekend’s tournament, visited Poco Feb. 8 and managed a 4-3 win. The Belle ‘‘B’’ Blades, playing without their regular goalie, suffered their first defeat of the year at the hands of Poco Feb. 7, but came back froma 4-0 deficit to tie Delta 5-5 the following day. Lea MacLean played well in goal while Janna Quinn scored her first hat trick in the game. a Compact to fit under car dash, keeps you in touch with your loved ones in case of a blizzard or bad roads Make driving a sound sensation! a 24-watt AM/FM/cassette features built-in 5-band 12-1930 Portable AM/ equalizer, fader, auto-reverse and 12-station memory 44-658° <1 - Wednesday, February 18, 1987 - North Shore News TENNIS TOURNEYS NORTH VANCOUVER’S Lions Gate Racquets Club has announced a tournament-level tennis program to prepare players for the upcoming spring season.
