But a unique exhibit of one-of-a-kind jewelry art has put these reeveled treasures on display. “Found” objects are the common thread that weaves together the work of eight jewelry designers in the show Salvage, currently at- the Crafthouse = Gallery on Granville Island. Bones, glass, machine parts, leaves, fossils, frag- ments of letters and photos find their rightful place alongside precious metals and gems. The show is coordinated by former North Van resident = FASHION ——— juni io jewelry show Andrea Russell. jeweller, Nanci s designs are also included in the show. The collage of materials draws con- nections — between diverse phenomenon — the trivial and the profound, the con- crete and the imag- ined, treasure and rash, says s Russell. “Conceptually the show examines the remains of our lives that have been broken, lost or for- gotten, then recov- ered) and trans- formed: salvaged.” Other — artists participating in the show are ‘Tamara Clark, Barbara Cohen, Erin Dolman, Eric Montgomery, Andrea Roberts, Heather Wilson and Karen Morrow.
