Last Monday night, city counci] voted 6-1 ro reject the Gideon’s request to dis- tribute its red pocket-sized Bibles free to students as they leave the grounds of high schools. “You may be aware chat the distribution of reigious articles is not allowed in pub- lic schools of the North Shore,” stated a letter writ- ten by local Gideon Frank Capistrano. “The Gideon’s in Vancouver continue to dis- tribute Bibles in front of select public schools on the sidewaik.
