West Vancouver high school teacher has been charged with a number of offences in relation to sexual assaulis alleged to have been committed on four former ntaincA ou male students at a West Vancouver high school. West Vancouver Police charged 62-year-old Dr. Daniel Bristow, of 4456 Canterbury Crescent in North Vancouver, Thursday with six counts of indecent assault on a male and three counts of gross in- decency. The offences are alleged to have occurred between 1968 and 1979 in West Vancouver, North Vancouver and other parts of the province. Bristow, who has a doctorate in music, taught at several schools in the West Vancouver school district, including Sentinel Sec- ondary School, and last worked as a music teacher in the municipali- ty. He was dismissed from his teaching position by the West Vancouver School Board earlier this month, Said West Vancouver school su- perintendent Bill May: ‘Dr. Bristow was dismissed by the board for misconduct and that’s all I'm prepared to say for the moment.” Said Kit Krieger, president of the West Vancouver Teacher’s Association: ‘‘I really have no comment to make about Dr. Bristow — that should be made by his employer." West Vancouver School Board chairman George Suart is out of the country, and was not available for comment to News press time Friday. Investigation by West Van- couver Police began in December after a former student lodged a complaint. .
